What is Rotten Flesh?
Rotten Flesh is a common drop from undead mobs like zombies, husks, and drowned. Despite its off-putting name and high chance of inflicting Hunger, it has many overlooked uses in Minecraft, especially in survival situations and trading.
How to Obtain
Rotten Flesh is dropped by Zombies, Husks, Zombie Villagers, and Drowned upon death. It can also be found in loot chests in dungeons, bastions, and desert temples. Players using looting enchantments can increase the number of drops, making it easy to gather in bulk from mob farms.
Uses and Features
Rotten Flesh is mostly used as an emergency food source, with an 80% chance of causing Hunger for 30 seconds. However, players can eat it safely if their hunger is already full. Tamed wolves can be healed with Rotten Flesh without any negative effects, making it valuable for wolf care. Cleric villagers will also buy Rotten Flesh in exchange for emeralds, turning it into a profitable commodity in large quantities.
